WANDERER: Daniel Scofield

Baritone Daniel Scofield returns to QCO after his incredible performance in Siegfried, Act II last year. Later this season, he sings with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre as Masetto in Don Giovanni and Silvio in Pagliacci. Last season Daniel performed the role of Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff with Pacific Opera Project, and sang Schaunard in La bohème with the St. Petersburg Opera Company. Later this summer he sings the role of Montanto in Verdi’s Otello at the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice.

ERDA: Ellen Graham

Mezzo-Soprano Ellen Graham recently sang with QCO as a soloist in Handel’s Israel in Egypt.

This past year she also sang with concert:nova, VAE: Vocal Arts Ensemble and Collegium Cincinnati. Her favorite operatic roles include Meg Page in Falstaff, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and Dorabella in Così fan tutte. She has been a core member of the Cincinnati Opera Chorus for ten seasons. As a concert soloist, she has appeared with the Cincinnati Pops, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Lebanon Symphony Orchestra.

Siegfried: Jason Wickson

Dramatic tenor Jason Wickson is emerging as one of the leading tenors in the U.S. His performances as Erik in Der fliegende Holländer with Opera Carolina won plaudits from The New York Times. Earlier this summer, he covered Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg with the Glyndebourne Festival. Highlights of his career include Florestan in Fidelio with Michigan Opera Theatre;  Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth with Opera Delaware; Calàf in Turandot with Shreveport Opera; Canio in Pagliacci with Lyrique en Mer in France; and Narraboth in Salome with Opera Hong Kong.

Brünnhilde: Mithra Mastropierro

Soprano Mithra Mastropierro, hailed by the New York Times as an artist to watch for her “penetrating top notes,” recently made debuts as Norma and Abigaille at the Croatian National Theater in Osijek to great critical acclaim. This season, she joins the roster of the Lyric Opera of Chicago as the cover of Abigaille in Verdi’s Nabucco and returns to the Croatian National Theater as the title role in a new production of Tosca. Future seasons will see her debut with The Dallas Opera to sing Clotilde and cover the title role in Bellini’s Norma. She recently won a major grant from the The Olga Forrai Foundation.

Production Design: Lizzy Duquette

Set designer Lizzy DuQuette is a multimedia artist and illustrator living in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She has collaborated with artists, musicians, and filmmakers to create installations, animations, film projects, album art, and advertisements. In 2010, she received a BFA from the University of Cincinnati DAAP, with a concentration in printmaking. Lizzy recently teamed up with Lisa Tompkins to create WOBBLE, an interactive chair/sculpture that can be viewed and played with at the Contemporary Art Center’s unMuseum. Lizzy returns to QCO after designing an acclaimed productions of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio, Wagner’s Siegfried, Act II, and Handel’s Israel in Egypt.

Lighting Design: Sally Stewart

Lighting designer Sally Stewart was born and raised in Cincinnati, and recently graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design and Technology. She has worked on several shows at NKU, including Moby Dick Rehearsed and Heart Attack with a Knife. She currently works with various theatres around the area such as the Fitton Center, Cincinnati Fringe Festival with the KNOW theatre, Contemporary Dance Theatre, and Cincinnati Landmark Productions. She has also had the opportunity to gain a recent internship at Utah Festival Opera in Logan, UT.

Sally has worked with Queen City Opera for their productions of L’amore dei tre re, Die Walküre, Siegfried and The Abduction from the Seraglio.
